Knit Pickers' Club: 2nd and 4th Wed of each month, 2-5 Carol Moler
Come join our Knit Pickers= Club. We knit 2 days a month every second and fourth Wednesday, from 2-5. The Club is open to all skill levels and, despite the name, includes crocheters as well. We want to share what we've learned, find new patterns, and simply just sit and knit. We may work on some felting projects, fingerless mittens, mittens, and socks. We can even help you get started—teach you the basics.
Hand Sewing Club: every Tuesday afternoon 2-5
This club is open to everyone. Bring your hand sewing (embroidery, binding, knitting, crochet, etc) and sit & stitch.
Starting Sunday March 1, 1-4:30, $65, Barb Boyer - runs for eight weeks
This comprehensive 8-week course will introduce to you almost everything you need to know about piecing a quilt top. Along the way you will learn about color, batting, thread, machines and various techniques to give you the skills to make almost any quilt.
Saturday March 7, 1-5, $30, Barb Boyer
Bring paper, graph paper and pencil, and your creative juices to class. I’ll go over the basics of drafting patterns, doing the math and how to add seam allowances into everything. You will draft your own blocks, create your own patterns, and design a quilt around your blocks. I will also show you how the Electric Quilt program works and let you play around on the computer. If you have a pattern idea that you want to create, bring your ideas and fabric and I’ll help you through the creation (mainly the math) of putting a quilt together from scratch.
Saturday March 14, 1-4, FREE, Barb Boyer
Felting a wool project, like a stocking, a bag, a hat, slippers or mittens is a fun way to use up scraps. First, we have to choose a project—I’ll work on that. I think what we will try first is a bag or basket, because it is easy to do, and will introduce you to a couple of new things in knitting. We’ll explain about the felting process and what you need to do when you’re finished. ALSO, in any of the knitting classes you can work on whatever you want. You can also come and learn the basics of knitting and purling. Or you can just get help for any project you are working on. No guarantees, but we should be able to help.
Saturday March 21, 10:30-4, $55 (one time cost), Jean Korber
It’s now time to sew and do a little binding. You should have your fabric all quilted and ready to be cut. Class time will be spent in cutting and, again, fitting, your jacket. You will have time to sew and you may have time for some binding. Things like pockets will be discussed. We have one more class time, as a just in case we need it, next month to help you put the finishing touches on your jacket.
Saturday March 28, 10:30-4, $45, Barb Boyer
We usually put a classic quilt on the schedule and this time it’s the Bear Paw. I will have 2 different patterns for you, one the traditional and the other is the oversized Wyoming Bear Paw. Patterns will be given in class and on the webpage, under Homework, I’ll have fabric requirements. You can do the quilt in just 2 colors, or you can make it scrappy. I will offer various setting choices AND if you took the design class, you will be able to design your own fun borders (I’ll have examples to show and, of course, I’ll help with the math).

We’ll just sit & knit today. Time to work on your stranded projects and I’ll show you all my treasures from my knitting cruise. ALSO, in any of the knitting classes you can work on whatever you want. You can also come and learn the basics of knitting and purling. Or you can just get help for any project you are working on. No guarantees, but we should be able to help.

If we need the time to finish the jacket, this is it.
Saturday April 18 AND May 16, 10:30-4, $45, Barb Boyer
This quilt uses 2 quilt blocks, Card Trick plus an alternate pieced block. Patterns will be given out in class. Fabric requirements will be in the Homework section on the Web page. The first class I’ll teach the two blocks. Then you will have a month to get your blocks made and put togethers. This is important! In the second class you will make the pieced border and learn how to fit the quilt to the border. If you don’t get the top done (and I understand it is a short turn around) you can still learn how to piece and fit the border to your quilt, once you get it done.
Saturday April 25, 10:30-4:00, $45**, Barb Boyer & Jean Korber
For several years we’ve been doing 6 quilts from one book. This year we will do 4 quilts, because the quilts have more pieces and will take a little longer to construct. BUT we will put on the schedule 6 quilts from the book, Stashtastic II by Doug Leko. The deal will be: Choose any 4 quilts, from the 6 we will offer, and *pay $135—get one free. So the schedule will show 4 quilts, one every 3rd month. And then, we will drop an extra 2 quilts into the schedule at random. Just because. The second quilt is Pinwheel Pizzazz.
Saturday May 2, 1-4:00, $35, Jean Korber
We’ve chosen an easy tote bag that can be completed using a fancy panel—Harry Potter perhaps? Or a western themed, Christmas themed, floral themed panel. Look to the Homework page for the pattern info – we’re still choosing the pattern. The tote bag is great for all those things you need to haul everywhere, including taking fabric home from the shop, to groceries, to knitting….You need a tote bag. An easy one!

This quilt is made up of just squares (if you want to be fancy) or just a piece of fabric (more boring). A quillow is a quilt that is enveloped (turned inside out, so no binding) and it can be folded into “pillow” sized quilt and stuffed into a “pillow” case fixed to the quilt. Voila! A pillow that can be transformed into a quilt, as needed. Great to take on trips, to school functions, for kids and movie night. Simple, easy, and some minimal machine quilting on your home machine. You should be able to get the entire quilt finished in class, AND you should be able to get started on the (minimal) machine quilting. Great for gifts.
